Traditional air dried timber

We stock many varieties of native English wood. The wood is locally grown and full of character. As a result our timber boasts a beautiful grain and many other aesthetic qualities. Our high quality wood will enhance any project that you have and provide you with the finishing touch.

When we select trees to be felled they are full of water. This water is mainly in the form of sap. As wood dries out it shrinks and changes due to water evaporating.

We dry our wood out slowly using traditional methods and natural airflow. Each wood type is different but as a rule, each board is dried for a year per inch of thickness and then dried for an additional year. This process creates a strong and stable product.
